Police Bust Andalucian Child Porn Ring

A man in southern Spain has been apprehended in a massive police raid that resulted in the arrest of 121 individuals over child porn possession.

The man, whose name was not disclosed but is a computer scientist in his 30s, was caught in the city of Almeria, in the southern region of Andalucia, where he lived with his parents.

Named ‘The Geek Paedophile’ because of the hundreds of ‘The Lord of the Rings’ and ‘Star Wars’ collectibles police found in his room, he was taken into custody in November 2023.

He was caught after metadata, as well as internet and phone geolocations of the photographic files led Spain’s National Police to the residence.

Upon checking his room, police found several one terabyte hard drives, some of which, they say contained beastiality porn and abuse of babies and children.

The Spanish police arrested 121 people linked to the online distribution of 500 terabytes of violent and explicit pornographic material depicting minors.

The raid is reportedly one of the largest-ever child pornography investigations in the country.

National Police officers from the Central Cybercrime Unit rooted out the 500 terabytes of child pornography material across almost 1,000 storage devices, which took roughly 125 searches to be collected.
