End Of Fiesta Brawl Overshadows Spanish Town Festival
This is the moment a group of young people get into a massive fight in the middle of the street early in the morning during a town’s summer festival, with one person left bloodied after being hit with a baseball bat.
The incident took place in the town of Iscar, in the province of Valladolid, in the central western Spanish region of Castile and Leon, at around 4.30am on Sunday, 6th August.
The group of people were outside a nightclub when the fighting started for unknown reasons.
The video was shared on social media and shows apparently underage youths involved in the brawl.
They can be seen throwing kicks and punches, with one even using a baseball bat.
Knives were also reportedly involved.
People tried to calm things down, but they failed and the fight lasted several minutes, according to local media.
Local media reported that two people were arrested and several others were injured.
Local police and the Spanish Civil Guard were called to the scene to put an end to the violence.
Jose Andres Sanz, the Mayor of Iscar, asked citizens to enjoy the festival parties without violence.
The Unified Association of Civil Guards of Valladolid has criticised the lack of officers attending the festival parties, saying “the number of officers of the Spanish Civil Guard is shameful to guarantee security”.
