Former Champion Female Tennis Player And Girlfriend Have Twins
A former top 10 woman tennis player in a relationship with her professional footballer girlfriend has announced she has given birth to twins.
Carla Suarez, 34, who was ranked world number six in 2016 and who won two singles and three doubles on the WTA tour, is in a relationship with soccer player Olga Garcia, 31.
And now the two have announced that Carla has given birth to their twin daughters Noa and Ona, saying that they chose the names because they have the same letters but in a different order.
The children were born in a delivery that went without complications at the San Pedro de Logrono Hospital in Logrono, Spain, on Friday, 2nd June.
Carla gave birth a year and a half after retiring from tennis and almost three years after announcing that she had Hodgkin’s lymphoma, a type of cancer from which she recovered after months of treatment.
Olga Garcia Perez is a Spanish footballer who plays as a forward for Primera Division club EdF Logrono and the Spain women’s national team.
She expressed enormous pride and admiration for Carla after giving birth, which took place just one day after her 31st birthday.
Olga said on Instagram: “Carla, I will be eternally grateful for giving me the most beautiful birthday present I could have and for being brave and a true fighter.”
