Ex-Gay Adult Movie Star Runs As Partido Popular Election Candidate
A former gay porn star is turning full hard right and giving his political rivals the willies after deciding to stand for mayor in rural Spain.
Antonio Moreno – better known to adult movie fans as Hector de Silva – says he decided to seek office because he is alarmed at falling population numbers.
His own remote village – Carcelen in the autonomous community of Castile-La Mancha – has just 652 inhabitants.
Antonio – representing the conservative Spanish People’s Party – says he wants to generate new jobs and homes to keep young people from leaving for the city.
He moved to the area after giving up porn six years ago and after a stint as a forest firefighter, has become a farmer.
Antonio told local media: “I made no secret of my past when I came here.
“Everybody knew what I have been doing and in any case, that is now in the past. Although it is not a secret.”
He added: “When the PP came to me with the suggestion I agreed, but I want to put together my own team for the campaign and chose people regardless of their political beliefs.
“By creating a group who are not worried about politics, we will be able to carry out projects for the people.”
Municipal elections are being held across Spain on May 28th.
