Snatch Of The Day: Football Star Robbed Of Rolex In Valencia

A football star’s 30,000 Euro Rolex watch was ripped from his wrist in a terrifying robbery after a visit to the hairdresser.

Spanish midfielder Dani Olmo had been leaving the salon in Valencia with his brother on 19th June when a thug pounced.

The astonished star felt the EUR-30,000 watch being torn from his wrist but too late to grab the thief.

His brother gave chase but could not catch the crook before he jumped into a getaway car being driven by an accomplice, reported local media.

Olmo – who plays in the German Bundesliga for RG Leipzig – then filed a complaint with the police.

Olmo, 24, was relatively unknown in his home country before his call-up to the Spain national team for EURO 2020, which took place last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

He won plaudits for his strong individual performance in the tournament, which saw Spain reach the semi-finals, where they bowed out to Italy on penalties.

Designer watch thefts have become endemic in parts of Spain, where crooks can follow their chosen victims for miles, waiting for an opportunity to strike.
