Brit Fighting For Life After Magaluf Beach Club Pool Dive Accident
A British teen has suffered a serious head injury after diving into a shallow pool at a beach club in the holiday resort of Magaluf.
The 19-year-old British tourist, name not reported, was seriously injured at Oceans Beach Club in the resort town of Magaluf on the island of Majorca, the largest of the Spanish Balearic Islands.
He was taken to a hospital in the island’s capital Palma de Mallorca and remains in serious condition.
According to reports, the teen dove headfirst into a half-metre (1.6-foot) deep pool at around 1.30am on 24th May.
The tourist hit his head hard on the bottom of the pool and suffered serious head trauma as well as a possible spinal cord injury, according to local media.
The emergency services arrived on the scene and an ambulance took the seriously-injured Brit to the Hospital Universitari Son Espases in Palma de Mallorca.
Latest reports said the teen’s condition remains serious.
Meanwhile, Local Police and Civil Guard officers have visited Oceans Beach Club to open an investigation into the circumstances leading up to the British tourist’s serious injury.
The police do not currently suspect foul play. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
