Up In Smoke As Money Heist Star Shares Tearful Home Blaze Images
One of the stars from Netflix’s hit show Money Heist has shared these heartbreaking images of his house burning down and has tearily revealed how he survived after waking up to the blaze and escaping through a window.
Spanish actor Miguel Herran, who plays Rio in the hit Netflix show La Casa de Papel, as Money Heist is known in Spain, shared the images of his home burning down on social media on the morning of Friday, 8th April.
The star shared the images with his 14.2 million followers on Instagram Stories on Friday. They appear to show the fire in his home as he is heard crying and swearing as he watches his house burn. He can also be heard saying: “I can’t believe it!”
Herran, 25, also shared aftermath footage showing the devastation caused by the blaze after firefighters reportedly arrived on the scene and quickly set to work tackling the inferno.
After firefighters put out the blaze, the popular Netflix star also took to social media to thank them, saying: “Thanks to everyone, especially the Avila firefighters and the security of my urbanization. The losses have been material… and as a good friend of mine says, first world problems…”
Herran is quoted in local reports as saying: “It caught me when I was asleep and I woke up with the sound of my house burning. I escaped through the window of my room.”
Avila is a city in Spain and is the capital of Avila province, which is located north-west of the capital Madrid, about 100 kilometres (62 miles) away.
The fire reportedly broke out during the night, with Herran quickly calling the fire brigade who put out the flames after he had escaped.
The aftermath images show how his sofa, a table, a stove and his books were completely burned by the fire.
It is currently unclear what caused the blaze.
