British Holidaymaker Dies In Beach Fall In Menorca
A 79 year old British man has died after falling down on some rocks on the island of Menorca.
The local news outlet Menorca Aldia reported that the tragic incident happened on Monday 21st June, near the holiday village of Gua, in Cala Tap.
It is believed that the man had been swimming in the Cala and fainted on getting out of the water where he hit his head on the rocks protruding from the sea.
The mans wife and son called for help from neighbours and an ambulance took him to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The authorities are investigating the incident and the British Consulate providing assistance in the repatriation of the body.
It is believed that the family have a holiday home in the village.
Spain is still on the UKs amber list for non essential travel.
