Man Arrested For Deliberately Infecting 22 People In Mallorca

A 40-year-old man has been arrested on the island of Mallorca, charged with deliberately infecting  people in his surround which resulted in 22 people, including three babies, falling ill with Covid-19.

According to a press statement released by the Mallorca police, the arrested man was coughing loudly all over his place of work, lowering his mask, while saying “I’m going to give you all the coronavirus.”

He also went to a local gym where his bizarre behaviour continued.

Five work colleagues and three fellow gym users later tested positive for the coronavirus.

Another 14 people were then infected, including family members of the man.

The man, a resident of Manacor is accused of purposely spreading covid-19 to at least  22 people, eight of them directly and 14 indirectly, both in his workplace and at the gym where he trained.

Despite having symptoms and having undergone a PCR test, he continued with his normal life without waiting for the result or maintaining any type of quarantine during the period, including coming to work with a temperature of over 40-degrees.

When his PCR test came back positive, colleagues were “alarmed”, according to police though none of the people became seriously ill, according to the police statement.
