Mother Arrested For Sending Daughters Sex Images To Paedophiles
The Spanish National Police have arrested a woman charged with sending sexual images of her own young daughter to a paedophile ring.
In the operation, the authorities also rounded up the 12 men who had received the sexually suggestive images of the under-age girl over text messaging.
The suspects are also charged with the possessing and distributing of other child sexual abuse material over the internet
Items seized from the ring included 14 mobile phones, three laptops, nine hard drives, two tablets and 24 CD-Roms.
Mostly operating in pairs, the group were simultaneously arrested in the provinces of Alicante, Almería, Barcelona, Madrid, Pontevedra and Valladolid.
Investigations began when the US Embassy in Madrid passed on information from the United States National Centre For The Protection of Minors of illegal activities involing children, that had been traced to Spain.
Specialized officers identified twelve individuals in various Spanish locations, using the internet to distribute material of sexual exploitation.
It is unclear if the mother had gained financially from the exploitation of her daughter.
The detained men and woman are in custody awaiting trial.
