Angry Mob Attacks Man After He Throws Acid On Woman

Shocking footage has been released of an angry street mob pummeling a man nearly to death after he allegedly threw acid over a 55-year-old woman.

The beating occurred in the neighbourhood of La Palmilla in the city of Malaga in the southern Spanish region of Andalusia on 20th January.

Local media said residents began to beat the man after he allegedly threw an acid known locally as ‘aguafuerte’ (‘strong water’) on a 55-year-old woman whose identity has not been reported.

Aguafuerte refers to acids that are typically used to create art by etching on different types of metals.

The video shows a crowd of people surrounding the 31-year-old suspect, who has not been named, as they punch and kick him in an alleyway.

The mob pummels the man until he falls to the ground and his attackers begin to step back.

The suspect then places his hands behind his head and remains on the ground while people yell insults.

Police officers secured the area and requested medical assistance for the beaten man and the woman he allegedly attacked.

However, according to local newspaper  (La Vanguardia), both were detained after they were taken to a medical centre.

The man was detained for his alleged attack, and the 55-year-old woman for having an open warrant for her arrest, but no further information was given.

There have been no reports on the injuries they suffered.

It is unclear what instigated the alleged acid attack, however it reportedly followed an argument.

The relationship between the suspect and the victim is unclear as they are not reported to be a couple.

There have been no reports of any mob members being arrested.

The investigation is ongoing.
