Dramatic High Speed Beach Chase Ends In Narcos Capture

This is the film-style chase of drug traffickers over sea and land in southern Spain, resulting in the capture of one of the crew members.

The Maritime Rescue Service reportedly spotted a suspicious speed boat in the middle of the sea off the coast of Tarifa, in the southern Spanish province of Cadiz on 15th November.

According to a press statement of the Spanish Civil Guard shared with Newsflash, the boat in question was a semi-rigid speed boat with two engines that is commonly used to refuel other boats carrying drugs so that they do not have to approach the coast and can avoid detection.

The Maritime Rescue Service Society spotted the speed boat from their helicopter and could see it was carrying many cans of petrol and decided to chase the boat.

The footage shows the high-speed chase of the boat which races through the sea to try and escape.

The boat veers for land and the crew members run onto the sand and run away on foot.

One of the suspects was finally arrested while trying to hide among the bushes near the seashore.

He has been arrested for the crime of drug trafficking and resisting arrest, the press statement reported.

The boat and the tanks with fuel have been seized by the Spanish Civil Guard and sent to the judicial authorities.

The police spokesman told Newsflash that the man, whose name has not been revealed, was of Moroccan nationality.

The investigation is ongoing.
