Just-Married Groom In Sidecar Crashes Into Oncoming Car

A groom has been injured after the scooter with sidecar he was driving alone crashed head-on into a car coming the other way moments after his wedding.

The incident took place near the Cristo de la Expiracion Bridge in the city of Seville in the southern Spanish region of Andalusia at around 8pm on 5th September.

The accident involving the 44-year-old groom was witnessed by the bride in a car travelling behind the scooter and sidecar.

The groom, whose name and nationality were not revealed, had just got married in Seville’s city centre when he was travelling towards the Cristo de la Expiracion Bridge with his new wife behind in the car.

At some point, the groom lost control of the sidecar and crashed into a 54-year-old woman’s vehicle coming in the opposite direction.

The groom suffered non-life-threatening injuries to his hip and shoulder and required medical assistance at the scene before being taken to a nearby hospital.

The shaken bride who can be seen in the video still in her wedding dress also needed medical assistance at the accident scene to help calm her down.

Meanwhile, the accident caused traffic chaos in the city centre as the police carried out a preliminary investigation.

Traffic resumed a short while later, and the investigation continues.
