Jet Ski Girl Dies In La Manga Accident

An eight-year-old girl has tragically died after she was left alone on a jet ski when her father fell into the water and she crashed into a boat.

The tragic incident took place in the tourist hotspot of La Manga, a strip of land separating the Mar Menor lagoon from the Mediterranean Sea in the southeastern Spanish region of Murcia on Saturday at around 8.25 pm.

Local newspaper La Opinion de Murcia report the accident took place near a popular bar called Escuela de Pieter at the end of La Manga where the boats can moor.

La Opinion reports that the eight-year-old girl was riding on the jetski with her father but he ended up falling into the water.

The girl stayed on the jet ski and then crashed into a boat, with the emergency services revealing in a press statement that they received a report that she had been involved in an accident.

She was pulled from the water unconscious and seriously injured, with paramedics treating her on the platform of a boat, but they could not save her life, according to the press statement.

Spanish Civil Guard officers attended the emergency along with members of the Red Cross who gave psychological support to the girl’s relatives.
