Mummy Pig Blocks Off Road To Breastfeed Piglets
These images show the mother pig who blocked off a Spanish road by lying down to breastfeed her 11 cute piglets, causing traffic to be diverted whilst her the family finished their breakfast.
The adorable scene took place on a main road in the municipality of Escorca, on the island of Majorca, in the Balearic Islands of eastern Spain in the early hours of the morning yesterday (Thursday).
These images show the mother pig who blocked off a Spanish road by lying down to breastfeed her 11 piglets and causing traffic to be diverted whilst her the family finished their breakfast.
In the photos, the mother piglet can be seen lying on the tarmac with her 11 piglets suckling.
Local newspaper Diario de Mallorca report that the incident happened during a quiet time and workers from the Highway Department diverted the few cars that were passing so the piglets could finish their breakfast in peace.
Ivan Sevillano Miguel, 35, the local Councillor of Mobility and Infrastructure of the government of Majorca, shared the images on his Twitter account, commenting: “Sometimes, on our roads, we see wonders like this.”
Diario de Mallorca report the mother pig and her piglets belong to the indigenous pig breed of the islands known as the Mallorcan Porc Negre (black pig) and had come from a nearby farm.
After half an hour the family were returned to their home, where the farmer had left the gates open by mistake, allowing the pig family to take the opportunity to go on an excursion.
