Fire Burns Through Layer Of Seeds To Reveal Green Grass

This is the incredible moment a line of fire burns through a layer of flammable tree seeds in a park leaving the fresh grass below undamaged.

The startling scenes were captured by Juan Carlos Gil Lopez, 44, in the town of Calahorra in the northern Spanish region of La Rioja, and have been widely shared on social media.

In the videos, a line of fire can be seen burning through the white seeds of the black poplar tree which have the appearance of wool.

As the fire burns through the layer of seeds it reveals the seemingly undamaged grass below in the area’s Cidacos park.

Gil Lopez told Newsflash: “I live by the park and went out with my eight-year-old daughter Cayetana for a walk, as is allowed, and we saw as if there was dust in the park. When we approached we then saw a small fire.

“I have never seen anything like this before.”

Gil Lopez said he called the emergency services and firefighters then came and used shovels to put out the flames.

He told Newsflash: “The grass did not get burnt, it was amazing seeing it green again.”

Netizens quickly identified the cotton-like fluff as the seeds of the black poplar tree which are highly flammable.

The fire only burnt through the seeds leaving the grass and trees undamaged.
