Spain Cop Climbs On Car To Give Bday Gift To Isolated Granny

A touching moment during the Spain lockdown as a Spanish policeman climbs on top of his patrol car to hand a bag of sweets to an elderly woman on her balcony celebrating her birthday in isolation.

The touching scene took place in the town of Jaca, in the northern Spanish province of Huesca in the Aragon region as Toni Moreno was celebrating her 68th birthday.

Moreno’s neighbour Teresa Garcia said that she had heard the OAP applauding two police officers walking the streets.

She says her neighbour then struck up a conversation with the cops from her balcony, after which “my children told the officers” that it was the OAP’s birthday.

Garcia says the officers then went to a nearby shop to get the sweets which were a free donation.

In the video, the unnamed officer can be seen climbing onto the roof of the patrol car and being handed a bag of sweets by his partner.

The birthday girl then comes out onto her balcony and the officer hands her the bag of treats as her neighbours sing ‘happy birthday’ to her.

Moreno thanks everybody for the gesture and her neighbour Garcia said “she is an exemplary neighbour” who has not left the house during isolation and has her shopping delivered once a week.

The OAP can be heard in the video telling her neighbours “we will hang out when everything is over”.

According to the latest figures from the Johns Hopkins University, Spain has registered 57,786 confirmed cases of coronavirus with 4,365 deaths.
