Spain Dog Cries At Gates To Locked Up Park

This is the viral moment a dog whines at the gates to its favourite park after it was shut during Spain’s coronavirus lockdown.

The clip was shared by the dog’s owner Luis Chacon in the city of Granada, in the southern Spanish region of Andalusia during Spain’s lockdown for COVID-19

In the video, the dog named Murphy can be seen standing at the entrance of the park with the gate shut.

The pooch whines as its owners says “it’s closed” and it can be seen itching to go inside.

Chacon tells the pooch he is “sorry” as it continues whining as the clip ends.

The owner said that the gardened park is one of the three-year-old dog’s favourite areas in the city and the pooch is not used to walking through the empty streets.

Parks and other public spaces have been closed in Spain’s coronavirus lockdown, with dogs being allowed to be taken on short walks.

The video, which has received over 1.8 million views, was shared with the message: “Day four of quarantine. Murphy is starting to not handle the closing of the parks well. He doesn’t understand anything.”

After the clip went viral the dog owner shared a message posing with his dog saying: “Thanks a lot to everybody, the love and laughs you are giving us are priceless. You have pure talent. There will be days without the park, but we will fight on, and soon we’ll enjoy every corner of it. In your name, he had some treats.”

Netizens were quick to point out their own dogs were suffering the same, such as ‘RosyTC’ who said: “Tell it that my beautiful Sharky (a dog) is the same, she is even overwhelmed but when this is over our friends will continue to enjoy their walks”.

‘AAhe215’ said: “My dog, every time she hears people clapping take her toys out to the balcony just in case someone wants to play with her”.

In Spain, 14,600 cases of coronavirus have been confirmed with 631 deaths.

In Andalusia, 859 people have been diagnosed with the virus.
