Rapper Wisin Claims 200K Barcelona Hotel Theft

Popular hip hop star Wisin has reported that around 200,000 USD worth of cash and valuables have been stolen from the safe in his hotel suite while staying in Barcelona.

The Puerto Rican reggaeton singer, who boasts 11.2 million Instagram followers, claimed that around 200,000 USD (160,000 GBP) was robbed from his room at the Hotel Arts Barcelona in the north-eastern Spanish region of Catalonia.

The Mossos d’Esquadra (Catalan police) have confirmed they are investigating the incident.

Wisin, real name Juan Luis Morera Luna, reported the incident at around 9pm, claiming that jewellery, cash and clothes had been stolen.

The authorities are checking the CCTV footage in the hotel and surrounding area and reports said that a suspect was seen leaving the hotel with bags at the time of the alleged robbery.

A Mossos d’Esquadra spokesman told Central European News (CEN) that the investigation is ongoing and is being kept under wraps for now.

He added: “So far nobody has been arrested.”

Meanwhile, the 40-year-old rapper, who reportedly has a net worth of over 20 million USD (16 million GBP), has yet to comment on the incident on social media.

Instead, he posted a photo of him with friend Ricardo Montaner, saying “sharing with this music giant”.

The investigation is ongoing.
