UK National Paedofile Arrested In Tenerife

A suspected paedophile has been arrested in Tenerife for sexual abuse allegedly committed against minors in the UK after reportedly living in caves.

According to local media, the British national, unnamed but 53, was arrested in Los Cristianos in the south of Tenerife, the largest island in the Spanish Canary Islands, on a European arrest warrant following investigative work by the National Police.

Reports said that the British High Court had issued a repatriation warrant against him for various crimes before he managed to flee the UK.

The unnamed suspect is accused of four crimes against minors that took place at an unspecified time in the 53-year-old Brit’s home country.

After escaping to Tenerife, the alleged paedophile made it difficult for the European authorities to find him and he constantly changed residence and routine, according to local media.

Reports said the suspect often switched from abandoned houses to caves and was known to even sleep on the beaches in the south of the holiday island.

However, the National Police suspected the British man had been living in the port town of Los Cristianos in recent weeks, and they managed to arrest him following a foot chase through the streets around Plaza del Pescador.

The British suspect is being kept in custody at the disposal of the local judicial authorities.

The alleged paedophile while remain in custody until the extradition process is underway.
