Bizarre Moment Madrid Student Violently Slaps Young Woman
This is the moment a male university student slaps a female fellow student so hard she is almost knocked off her feet during what was reportedly an initiation ritual gone wrong.
The incident was filmed in a dormitory in the ‘Colegio Mayor Universitario Diego de Covarrubias’ in the central Spanish capital Madrid and was shared on Twitter, where it has been seen over 45,000 times.
In the footage, a male student is seen standing in front of a young woman reportedly also a student with cream in his right hand.
He then hits the woman hard across the face and she is nearly knocked off her feet while onlookers gasp at the noise and violence of the blow, which was reportedly part of an initiation hazing ritual.
Notably shaken, the young woman wobbles on her feet as a friend walks over to help her. Meanwhile, the male student holds his hand over his mouth in apparent shock at what he had just done.
According to local media, two unnamed students have been suspended after the video was widely circulated on social media.
The Madrid city council also launched a campaign this week intended to highlight the problems of initiation stunts such as the one in the video.
Called ‘Di No A Las Novatadas’ (‘Say No To Pranks’), the initiative will also address the dangers of consuming alcohol and drugs, which is commonly linked with university pranks.
Netizen ‘Vmaurak’ said: “He should be expelled and thrown out of the university residence immediately. He is a reckless person.”
‘Katybres’ said: “I hope this violent idiot is properly punished.”
‘Wecantbelieve’ wrote: “What immature idiots for taking part in this.”
The students have since apologised for their actions.
