The Spanish tennis ace is reportedly looking to sell his yacht, named Beethoven, which he bought in 2016 for 2.9 million EUR (2.6 million GBP).

The 33-year-old is reportedly looking to sell the 23-metre (75-foot) yacht for 2.6 million EUR (2.3 million GBP) despite him having said two years ago that “the boat is almost like my home”.

The yacht was built by Monte Carlo Yachts and has room to comfortably sleep eight people, with four bedrooms on board.

Nadal is from the Balearic Island of Majorca and has spoken about his love for all things aquatic, telling Expansion in 2017: “I’ve always been in contact with water. I’m from Majorca, a beautiful island and I’ve always lived between Manacor and Porto Cristo, so always close to the sea.

“When I was young my dad had a little boat and we loved to go out and dive, doing every activity possible in the sea. I still love it and nowadays it’s hard for me to imagine my life without it.”

It is unclear why the superstar is selling the yacht, which has a top speed of 32 knots, but some reports have speculated Nadal could be looking to buy an upgrade.
