Army Officer Admits Strangling Girlfriend In BDSM Sex Game

Army Officer Felix Daza Cabeza was called to the stand in a trial in the court of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, in the southwestern Spanish region of the Canary Islands for the murder of Lorena Mazzeo, which took place on 23rd October 2016.

Cabeza reportedly told the court that he had hired Mazzeo, an Argentine national, as a prostitute over the phone and went to her house, in the town of Puerto del Rosario on the Canary Island of Fuerteventura, to have sex.

He claimed that she went into the shower with him and encouraged him to participate in a sadomasochist sex game which ended in her death.

According to local media, the sex games consisted of wrapping a shower hose around her neck as he had sex with her as the water was running.

Firefighters found Mazzeo’s body in the shower, with the hose still around her neck.

Police did not find her lingerie, the bed sheets, her two mobile phones or an iPad Mini and the suspect admitted that he had taken them with him because he was scared.

Cabeza’s statement reportedly contradicts earlier statements he gave to the police and prosecutors believe it was a premeditated murder and are asking for a sentence of 21 years in prison.

Reports suggest Mazzeo was actually Cabeza’s girlfriend and had previously worked as a journalist in Argentina.

The army officer admitted he had called her before but said he had only done so to try and hire her as a prostitute. He says the day of her death was the first time they had met in person.

Prosecutors are also asking for 40,000 EUR (34,588 GBP) in compensation for each of Lorena’s parents and 20,000 EUR (17,294 GBP) for her sister.

The trial is ongoing.
