Angela Ponce, 28, born Angel Mario Ponce, made history on 29th June 2018 when she became the first trans woman to be crowned Miss Spain.

She then became the first trans woman to represent their country at the renowned Miss Universe pageant.

However, Ponce recently referred to Miss Grand International 2018 holder Clara Sosa as “prehistoric” after the 25-year-old Paraguayan was asked her opinion about transgender people taking part in beauty pageants during an interview.

Sosa initially joked, saying: “From my point of view, it seems unfair because they will never have cellulite. That is very unfair!”

However, she added: “If you are a woman and you want to take part in a transgender competition, you won’t be able to because you are female and it is not allowed.

“But you can in women’s [pageants], and with that regard it seems unfair.

“Many models in the competition won’t give their opinion because organisers have already allowed her to participate and you have to accept it.”

However, Ponce was unimpressed with the Paraguayan model’s remarks and posted on Instagram: “While some of us change history, others live in prehistory…”

Many of Ponce’s 678,000 Instagram followers rallied to support her following Sosa’s comments.

Sosa, the first Paraguayan model to win Miss Grand International, has not yet responded to the trans queen’s rebuke.
