15 m² flat for €580 causes outrage

This small flat that is not more than 15 square meters in size has caused outrage among netizens after it was put up for rent for 580 euros (521.5 GBP).

A Twitter user called El Zulista shared the offer of this small flat located in the Spanish capital Madrid with the bed stuck between a wall near the roof of the house, a small roof window, and a small kitchen and a bathroom.

The overall impression is that it is not even big enough for one person.

According to the description on a well known website offering houses to rent and buy locally, it says: “This small studio is available for rent in the area known as La Latina (well known city centre area in Madrid). It has a total size of 15 square meters built, and is fully furnished. It is located on the ground floor, near the metro station of La Latina and the square La Cebada, in the city centre of Madrid”.

The twitter user also shared some pictures from the inside of the tiny flat theat were copied from the advert on the website, with many people questioning whether it would even be legal.

‘astaroth1000’ said: “the good thing is that if you die on the bed, you save on the burial. Just add two pieces of wood crossed over and add the words RIP.”

‘crissgahe’ joked: “if you open the door, you cannot see the TV, if you open the window and the microwave door, you have to be sitting on the sofa because there is no room. If you open the window in the roof, you cannot get into the bed.”
