Young Woman Gored By Bull With Horns On Fire

This is the shocking moment a young woman is badly gored by a bull during a traditional nighttime event where the animal’s horns are set alight.

The incident took place during the town festival in Sumacarcer in the eastern Spanish region of Valencia.

During the ‘toro embolado’ event, also called ‘bou embolat’ in Catalan (roughly translated to ‘bull with balls’), the stocky animal is fitted with wooden balls on its horns which are then set alight.

In footage of the incident, organisers are seen lighting the bull’s horns and setting it loose within the arena.

Spectators look on from behind the metal fences, but some people are seen inside the bullring.

The bull runs to the far end of the arena where a young woman is seen well inside the arena, reportedly taking photos.

The bull charges the spectator and sends her flying into the air as audience members scream.

Luckily, the bull walks away as several people dash over and drag the victim clear.

According to eyewitnesses, the unnamed woman was distracted taking pictures and did not see the bull coming.

She was attended to by local paramedics before being transferred to the Lluis Alcanyis Hospital in the nearby city of Xativa.

The young woman was sent to intensive care but her condition has since been described as “stable”.

The ‘bull with balls’ event, which usually takes place at night, is very popular in the Valencian community and southern Catalonia.
